Writers are a unique species. They collect important and sometimes insignificant information, but their minds are packed with facts and data. Their desks are cluttered with little paper notes. Wallets contain little money, but lots of ideas and notes that will someday be turned into a poem, article, or a book. They keep a pen, writing paper or a notebook near their pillow in case they wake up with an alarming thought. The walls around their desk are mottled with sticky-notes of ideas and afterthoughts. Mentally busy human beings with spurts of inspiration and speculation, and always in the pursuit of another interesting factoid or bit of information. They spend most of their mentally investigating a story, creating a new character or solving the mystery of life.
Selflessness of one's self,
creativity and ingenuity.
Escape routes in their mind,
with an imagination that's divine.
Endless time to create and build,
yet motionless moments of time standing still.
Memory banks of conversations,
and heartfelt times of reflection.
Open fields that envelope
all dimensions of time.
Flexible enough to retreat and recapture,
yet soluble like salt in water.
A mind that expands and contracts,
like the swelling of waves,
and the ebbing of tides,
enrapturing all its surroundings.
Take a trip to check out
all the encapsulated thoughts.
Then prepare yourself for the time of your life,
as you explore the creative genius inside.
What an adventurous journey it would be,
to be trapped in a writer’s mind.
